Caroline grew up in South Manchester playing with Spirograph and reading Beatrix Potter books to her many pets! These influences can be clearly seen in her artwork today.
She combined her love of making and story telling to study BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance Design where she developed her skills in detailed technical drawing (by hand), large-scale scenic painting and prop making. Now she can be found creating detailed hand drawn illustrations on paper or painting large-scale artwork on walls (and more recently on sculptures).
Inspired by artists such as Erte and illustrators such as Kay Neilson with a love for Geometric pattern, her work often features pattern, line and symmetry and being a nature lover, she especially likes drawing things with wings! Recently her work has focussed on local wildlife and she hopes to use her work to raise awareness of local wildlife issues.
Caroline is an advocate of the arts and has 15 years experience of working on socially engaged arts projects with a wide variety of community groups and provides a whole host of workshops and projects for schools, please contact her for more details.
